Programs Under Our Umbrella
Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard
Although it would be ideal if such programs did not need to exist, Brevard County is fortunate to have the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard (CACB) and the Child Protection Team (CPT). These two programs collaborate to prevent and investigate child abuse and to protect child victims.
Child abuse is complex, and requires expertise and comprehensive partnerships with a team approach to decision-making and intervening for the child’s safety; here, law enforcement, child protection staff, prosecutors, mental health personnel, and medical and victim advocacy professionals work together to conduct interviews and make team decisions on cases of child abuse.
As the program manager and fiscal agent, the Space Coast Health Foundation is privileged to serve in this capacity and support these programs which provide services to abused children and their families.
